2020 Chevrolet Camaro Four-Cylinder V8 Engine Review, Specs, Redesign, & Performance – GM’s Executive Vice Chief executive of Global Product Development fairly recently hinted the company was taking care of a more cost-effective Camaro with a V8 engine and it seems that won’t be the only variant getting special attention.
2020 Chevrolet Camaro Four-Cylinder V8 Engine Review
In interviews with GM Expert, Chevrolet’s Todd Christensen confirmed “We’re seeking to do far more in the decrease end” so the company is pondering of “ways to repackage and reprice” the Camaro. Christensen continued to say Chevrolet is looking at several diverse options and observed the V8 engine has noticed higher require than at the beginning expected.
This produces a bit of an issue as the Camaro SS commences at $37,000 which is $1,905 more than the 2018 Ford Mustang GT. As a result, Christensen hinted a more cost-effective V8-powered model could “be one way to make the middle of the market grow a bit much more.”
The V8 model is probably not the only one getting special focus as Christensen explained the company requires to stand out limelight on the car’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. However, that’s another Camaro weakened spot as the engine produces 275 hp (205 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque which is considerably less than the Mustang’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder which pumps out 310 hp (231 kW) and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque. Christensen was dropped to say once we could see the changes but Chevrolet is concentrating on a facelifted Camaro and it would not be also unexpected if the company patiently waited until the car’s unveiling to expose more affordable variations.
